Get an endorsement

To ride a motorcycle or trike in Washington, you need to have an endorsement on your driver license or an instruction permit for learning how to ride on public roads.

Getting your instruction permit or endorsement includes passing a knowledge and skills test. We recommend completing these tests as part of an approved training course, which are available for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.

Learn more and get started on your endorsement or permit through the WA Department of Licensing.
